Looking into this software, I would like to 1.4.5 to enhance my website and the forum. It wasn't that difficult to add a form link to the menu and start customizing within the first day. I've had the software setup on a Go Daddy hosting account, where my forum has actually been modified, updated, and running fine for years. I know some people frown on Go Daddy hosting for certain applications. But the setup actually went quite smoothly. Getting the correct settings for the e-mail relay wasn't all that difficult either. It's using the Microsoft SQL server option.
Thanks for putting up this form by the way. The support forum for blogengine.net on Go Daddy is dusty, cold forge contains a lot of information but most everywhere else on the Internet information for blogengine.net just seems scattered.

Hi danurve,

Seems like there are some installation issues with GoDaddy hosting plan with BlogEngine.NET application.

Maybe you can look for some other hosting provider who have tested their hosting plan fully compatible with BlogEngine.NET application.

The ASP hosting company at SeekDotNet.com provide user friendly control panel system which allow users to install BlogEngine faster and easier. You may test drive their hosting control panel system at http://www.seekdotnet.com/controlpaneldemo.aspx

Good luck!
Cheers!

Negative.
If you re-read my post you will see where I mentioned ".the setup actually went quite smoothly." Opening up the settings page and typing in the correct custom relay settings is hardly an installation issue. And even if it was that is a stretch for a reason to switch hosts.

Sorry for misunderstanding. I thought U are not satisfied with the GoDaddy support team for Blogengine. You mentioned about SQL Server problems. Which version of SQL Server did you used with Blogengine?
How are your Blogging experiences with Blogengine? Mind to share your blog URL with us?
Cheers!
